I didn't look up the ratios. I figured the 6 spd just added more gears in the middle and left 1 and top gear the same as the old trans. I have a 5.3 with the 4L60 and 3.42's and it's poor off the line even with the stock 20's, even worse with the 33's.

Yeah I hear you. The new six gear auto has amazing ratios. Its a lower first gear. Tighter ratio upshifts and a dual overdrive. Its really cherry. Plus not to mention its tough as ballz...
My new 6.2L is inching closer by the day hehehe. I'll post up when I get it

Not one post about towing capacities when it is one of his criteria?
He is not drag racing this truck.

See all the posts. I don't see one anywhere where someone is helping by actually stating a towing capacity. Lots of posts about how fast trucks are and how great the 6 speed is. While i am here, I love my 6 speed for towing.

The dealer has the towing capacity, he can look that up there or online.
I said the 5.3 is better for towing and the other comments recommended getting the 6 speed auto which also works towards the towing. Doesn't seem like he wants it specifically for towing. If he's towing a car on a trailer at any point then the 4.8 is a poor choice.
What motor do you have in your truck?

It does tow nice. Better mileage than my old Yukon.
The auto leveling is nice but mine started failing just out of warranty. GM did nothing. First the compressor then the control module then the right shock bag then the left. Three visits over 9 weeks. Total rip off cost was about $2500!!

I have the same stuff on my Avalanche LTZ. So far no problems. When I put the 6" lift on I swapped to Rancho 9000's on the front which took out the active shocks I had there. If I tow with it I pull the fuse for the rear air suspension.

I would have junked the air shocks before I spent 2500$ on fixing them. That money would have lowered the truck and put all new shocks on it and then some.

Ya well it creeped upon me, it was 3-4 visits over 8-9 weeks. The two shocks were the last two items. GM would do nothing at a few k kms out of warranty.
If I was told all the items were crapped out I would have got a kit and other shocks fo the rear end. I had been looking for something but was having a hard time finding a kit that allows the ride height to still function.
