Post Looking for somone with HP tuners, etc
My car has a slight tick that's there when I hit WOT, right around the 5K-redline mark. I dont know what it is as the car has no loss of power, has only 24,600 miles and the maintenance is up to par.

I saw an 02 SS once hooked up to this HP tuners program and now I'm thinking this is what I may need as it can read the motor pretty well.

Anyone out there have one that I can borrow it and a little bit of your spare time? I'm located in the Hamilton area.

Thanks a bunch!

Probably detonation. What fuel are you running? Does the ticking continue or does it go away after a second or two as the computer pulls spark?

It doesn't go away I dont think. It only happens at the very top of the rpm's, like 5K plus. It's not a fast paced tick either but def noticeable.

The car has a pretty spoiled life and it's always had that since new. I put 91 in her?

With that low of mileage it sits more then it moves. Do you put fuel stabilizer in the tank to keep the fuel from going bad? If not then burn that crap out and put some cleaner through to get the carbon burnt out of the motor.

If it is carboned up then it'll detonate which will make a rattle/tick noise at high rpm's under load.

Like Flame says if you're not running fresh fuel burn off what you have and get a fresh tank full of 91 in it.
