A good friend of my Dad's did well for himself early, bought a new 68 Vette 427 4spd car and on the second or third oil change they didnt fill it up, he drove it dry, engine grenaded a few miles down the road. This was thr guys first new dream machine the ZR1 model of the day and the dealer offered to rebuild the engine, he didnt want a rebuilt engine, he wanted a brand new engine and GM wouldnt do it, so he coughed up the difference to get his car back to where he wanted it, with a new engine.
It's a shit sanmmich on all sides. Theres not a single good outcome here where probably everyone involved will waltz away with sting. That kid... sure changed the course of his life real quick. last time I took my 94 for some touch up painting I told the bodyshop that I recorded the mileage when I left it there. that body shop is known for test drives  |
