Post Krown Vs Rust Check
Probably debated many times, and I know Krown is a sponsor so there probably is a bit of a bias...but what is the big difference between both? Both have been around for years...just curious re what you guys think?

This is in regards to my maxima. I have had the car a year, really like it as a DD, and thinking I am going to hold onto it for as long as possible, so it maybe worth some sort of annual rust "protection" if I plan on keeping it as long as possible.

Thoughts?

They both make door seals swell...
Not sure what the warranty is with Rust check but Krown will pay to repair rust if you get it done yearly from new

I've heard it is much better get this done in the summer, when the heat helps it "creep" into all the nooks and cranny's.

Yup, heard the same.

Best time is when it is the hottest outside to get everywhere; as the oil based spay is more viscous when it is warmer.

& the best time to apply for against rust is just before spring.
As rust doesn't happen when everything is frozen.
The chemical reaction needs water (& some heat) for it to happen.
But people do park in heated garages, & we do have brief thawing spirts.
Or go through a car washes.

I know of some people that go to Krown twice annual.
In the fall before winter, & in the spring after the snow & ice melts lol

Rod at Bolton Krown recommended to me when I had my application put on at the beginning of Dec...
to come back in late spring to do a undercarriage spray coating again when it is warm to get it everywhere so it would creep more into the nooks & crannys; since my car was new.
& then come back annually in the fall for re-applications.

Post Re: Krown Vs Rust Check
When I dailied my Sonoma and really cared about this stuff I did what Mike recommends; Krown in both the fall and spring. Worked well and after 11 winters and 240,000km my truck is still rust free.

Now I usually take the Firebird in once annually in the Fall. I do park in a heated garage at work, so I like to make sure it's well protected during the salty winter months. It's been a rough winter, so I may take it in again for the underbody in the spring.
