Hey all, I know that the scammers are out in force this year. Usually, when I see a high end car on kijiji going for $4000, you know it's a scam. Case in point...

So I will reply to their ads just to see if they are in the military and stationed across sees, car is in Miami in a storage unit or whether it is a poor recently divorced woman that was awarded the car in the divorce and now only wants to get rid of it...
This one I posted is telling me the car is in London On. but she is in Seattle Washington. She is willing to come back and meet me as long as I am not wasting her time by flying back and then end up not selling the car. She just emailed me and wants to meet Wednesday. I replied that I can't do weekdays, just weekends. She is almost convincing, but what I really want to know is, whats her game? So she is going to bring the car for me to inspect it and buy it? Haven't heard of this one, so it makes me wonder how this scam works...any thoughts or has anyone had any dealing with a Kelly Callagan?

Strange scam if the car is in London...like of course you will be available to see it...or send another member to check it.
Tell her to bring the papers and you will bring the cash..and a couple of friends just in case.

Most scams are for some lost wire transfer deposit on a fake long distance car.
Unless 3 guys are going to show up and rob you...

Definitley strange, I was thinking the same thing about being robbed. The person emailed me again tonight. They said that Saturday is no problem and that they will have all the paperwork for the car. I even asked then for the Buyers Used Car package from the ministry...they seem almost too accomodating...I think I will tell them that I will look at the car on Saturday, but I will want the vin # to give to my insurance company before any money changes hands.

You can ask MTO for info with the plate.

With the serial number or plate number, one can buy a "used vehicle information package" from the MTO that shows the present owner and all previous owners.

Cost = $20.

It's actually the resposibility of the seller to provide it.

Cross reference the vin on the car to the vin on the paperwork when it is all physically in front of you, cut the chk and take the car home right then a there, lol

So they gave an address, 650 Cheapside Rd in London, which is a condo unit behind a plaza. I replied back saying that I don't know London and I would prefer to meet at the Schell gas station on Oxford Road 29 outside Woodstock and that I also needed the Vin so I can get insurance in order to get a temporary permit to drive the car. I also said that no money will change hands unless I have what I requested. Still waiting to hear back. So if this is a legit transaction, they should be fine with it, but I have a feeling that even if I do hear from her, it wont be satisfactory at which point the "deal" will fall through. If this a scam, it's a new one to me. I did call the police station yesterday and they have not heard of any scams where the person actually has the vehicle and is willing to meet face to face.

So thie scamm is like this, once they think you are convinced there is a real car and that they are going to meet with you, they ask for a deposit to help pay for the flight and expenses of travelling to Canada. Almost laughed myself silly. I replied back that there was no way any money is being sent anywhere until I have physically verified that the car is what it is suppose to be and that all paperwork is in order. The person even took at photo of "her" passport to verify her identity...too bad she can't spell her last name correctly.

Ok, so just to reiterate everything. The Pontiac is the one in the pictures that you sent me, correct. This is a 2002 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk with a LS1 V8 motor and a 6 sp manual transmission , black exterior with black leather interior.
