Post Help Please
hey guys, started the car today and noticed loud noise coming from passenger side valve cover, right by the firewall, oil level is fine, i took it for a short drive and its running alot hotter than usual, and when i come to a stop it wants to die and then revs up a bit to keep it running and repeats itself...

its a rebuilt 350 in my 84 Z28 with maybe 10,000km since rebuild, could this be carb related? not sure where to start but need to fix asap...

pull the cover and make sure a rocker arm hasn't backed off.

The rubber ones are reusable you shouldn't need anything.

Just make sure you don't pinch them putting them back on.

Pull the coil wire first and bump it over slow with the starter.

you haven't had the felpro ones have you....the fuckers are about a half inch too tight and won't stay in the groove for shit...and even weatherstrip adhesive doesn't bond to them.

That's the vent and its supposed to be like that. The rear end is upside down. The leaking will stop if you turn it over  .

I got ur message this morning on Facebook Tony...but im working man.

Bucking and backfiring out the carb is definitely a timing problem. Borrow someones timing light and use that to set your timing properly first.

Make sure none of your plugs are fouled up and all your spark plug wires are securely seated on all 8 plugs AND on the distributor.
