Post New PB and the 10 bolt live's another day!
Well i finally got time to make it to the track after a busy summer of weddings, partys, and whatever other crap that kept me from getting to run the car. Had a blast the car was actually biting off the line and 10 bolt held in there nicely to my suprise. Mods since last year are long tube headers, catted y, sfc/torque arm track pack setup, and a set of m/t et et steet bias plys. Last years PB was a 14.7 at 94mph with a 2.2 or 2.3 60' on street tires. First run last night i had the tires up to about 28lbs and was easy on the burnout and hooked after i was sleeping on the tree first run shakes  . Every run after i was getting better and more consistent as i got the tires heated up more while increasing the launch rpm. Bumped the tire pressure down a couple lbs after i ran the first run and the car kept biting harder and harder off the line. Here's my five time slips and two videos that turned out half decent which ill get up soon i hope as they wont upload to photobucket right now. Keep in mind this is at Shannonville at the drag isnt a high quality track and there is no prep and time tend to be off lower then say at Cayuga or Sparta not that im making excuses but what alot of people said last night and being my second time ever at the track and just over 356,000km !on the old all original lt1 she ran pretty damn strong!

14.8 at 94mph with a 2.47 60'

14.6 at 102mph with a 2.38 60'

14.2 at 97 mph with a 2.37 60'

14.16 at 92 mph with a 2.16 60'

14.10 at 97 mph with a 2.17 60'[/b]

13's are around the corner now! I start my MT's at 16-18 psi cold for best results. You'll get more consistent the more you run it. The main thing is having fun!

Ouch....not even a 13.9

Howcome the MPH is all over the place...are you lifting off before the end of the traps? Thats a huge difference 92-102mph trap speeds...

Try your hands at Cayuga or Sparta...because 2.anything 60's on ET streets with suspension like yours is absolutely brutal...

Glad to hear you had a blast though!

BTW sounds like the clutch is starting to slip

My friend was pulling 1.7's on his 10 bolt.

I was pulling low 1.90's on mine,best of 1.87

I think yours will be ok.

Get that car out to Cayuga this weekend and get a good timeslip.

Alot had to do with the tires and not knowing how the rearend will hold up so i guess you can say i taking it easy and worried at the same time. With lower tire pressure and more rpm launch i know for a fact she will hook some low sixty foot times. But doing that will also put the rear at its limits so how much do i want to gamble blowing it is the next question? But on the flip side i was running a touch better 60 foots and similar mph but half a second faster then last year. I had bad traction issues on the street tires so with that being said i know the car has it in just have to get the balls to launch it at 4k+ and see what happens as opposed to the 2-3k i was doing. I didnt pull anything out of the car besides the sub box.

Thats fine man, but 2.1-2.4 60' isnt going to hurt your rear end...in fact you should be able to cut MUCH better short times then that on regular street tires...and you have the trak-pak setup on your car which makes it that much better and easier to launch these cars!

The soft launch aside though, im talking about your trap speed, because that will help dictate the potential of your car. Your trap speed differed 10mph (92-102) and thats HUGE, especially considering you were on an ET Street DR tire. If you average it out your car is doing mid 90's MPH trap speeds so you wont ET much faster until you get that 60' launch time down quite a bit...but even then your trap speed wont go up much if any.

You don't gotta worry about popping your rear with those short times dude... our 10-bolts normally let go once you're hitting 1.8's and lower on 6-speed cars...so if you're worried about it you're better off going to the track on regular street tires then the Mickey's :D

Oh, and like I mentioned before...watch that clutch...it's already slipping so it's only a matter of time before it get's worse unfortunately..

The consistancy will come with practice. Its very easy to have a bad shift when there is a human involved.

Where was this? You will find some of the places are not good at the traps speeds. Even TMP. I raced a guy a few weeks ago and was pulling him a little on the top end, but his trap showed 11.4@115 to my 11.5@125. There was no way I was 10mph faster than him, maybe 3-4 tops. St Thomas was always bad.

I think you sent an invite from Shannonville to me, if that is where it was than I would not put much into the numbers. You also would not have been on a well prepped pad to launch from. with those tires you should be able to go 1.8-1.9 no problem.

10 bolt will live, I cut 1.67s with mine and made like 420whp, also lasted with the 600whp turbo setup.

Steve also cut like 1.63s on a stock 10 bolt
