Post Thinking About A New Exhaust Setup...
Well as the car sits its got Pacesetter LTs - Catted Y - Borla Catback - E-Cutout in Right Tailpipe. The car sounds awesome and i get alot of compliments however i know when you start adding heads and cams the borla gets raspy and old quick. I love the way my borla is setup with the cutout in the right tail pipe so i can have it quiet and loud at the flick of a switch. Ive been looking at the possibly of doing a 2.5 over the axle true duals with dynomax bullets. I know its costly and if i could get away with before the axle dumps i would but cant. I like the Bassani setup on Leroys formula but it isnt cheap and shipping would hike the price even more. They are supposed to fit like a glove but im sure i could probubly have something custom done locally for less. I know Juice has a custom true dual setup aswell but its been a long time and cant remember what his consists of.

Thoughts...

Do you still have those pics of how yours is done there OJ? I know yours is with shortys so it will a be bit different. I have the panhard bar relo kit so clearance should be as much as issue for the over the axle portion. Im really liking how the Dynomax Bullets sound from what ive heard both in tech and video. I should be able to sell off my Borla which is in mint shape to recoup alot of the cost that will go into this.

If I were you I would wait and see how it sounds once the motor is in. Most of the raspy Borla's don't have cats which drown out a lot.

If only that was the case... the borla i have is the two out the left so its not as easy as just cutting them and fabbing new tips on as the corsa clones i like are dual 3" out only configuration.

Matt, i think the Borla we have is single out the driver side (i could be wrong) if so I could swap ya mufflers, cause the dual out doesnt matter to us

This is a put together setup from a guy over on LS1tech.com. I love the way its put together minus the cutouts but they can be added back at any time.

Consists Of:

Flowmaster 3" to 2.5" reducers
Magnaflow stainless (5) J-bends, (4) L bends and (1) 45 degree bend
Woolf aircraft (2) 2.5" radius L bends
Magnaflow dual in/out (internal X) muffler
Magnaflow X-pipe
Magnaflow stainless dual oval tips
Dynomax stainless cutouts
QTP electric cutouts
Lots of stainless Accu-seal almps

You'll be putting cats in there so cutouts get real tight or ground clearance issues arise

If i decided to put cutouts in i would have to get creative or buy some small bullet cats. I know with this setup on the car i dont think ill need to put cutouts in... the sound and awesome exhaust notes out of this type of TD setup would be enough! We'll see how she sounds when it goes in im just pondering the idea since Borla's are everywhere know and want something different.
