Looks about the same as the used pressure plate that came with my T5:

...and it's been fine (in the car for a few years now). I'm no expert, but From what people told me at the time, as long as you can still clearly see the "pattern" on the clutch disc, it's worth using. Clutches aren't as easy to see how much "meat" is on them as brakes as they don't look much different when new.

I'd call the factory and ask what the friction disk thickness is when new..

I run an Valeo LT4 PP that came from SLP, it's the one with holes drilled in it to lighten it and provide quicker release. It also has a slightly higher spring pressure. For the friction disk I run a Mcleod "7500rpm" #261871. It has one side organic and one side kevlar I believe. It's the second friction disk on the PP. The first stock LT1 one wore out fast. Decided to cheat and just clean up the PP.
It seems to be holding up well with 375HP to the wheels on drag radials full time, maybe 20 1/4 mile runs on a track and many more on the back roads. It's eaten through a full set of BFG drag radials on the street and never missed a beat.

Yeah i think im going to pass on it... im still waiting for pics on another Spec 3 clutch. If that doesnt pan out i know ill just end up getting a Ram Powergrip or Comp Clutch 2.5 as both will be roughly be around 500 shipped to my door.

Sounds like your 3rd gen is low on power have you had it tuned professionally? Most LE2 setups are upwards of 400+rwhp. Im sure with a spot on tune you should see a big gain and probubly run alot smoother too. Sounds like a sweet ride though 8)

Ya, the numbers seemed low, but the dyno run was on a Mustang unit.. It pulls pretty hard.
The tap speed at 114 is pretty strong though, and you're right it still only has a mailorder tune from Bryan Herter in it.

I was ready to head to the US to get a tune last summer but never made it down. My pregnant wife would not have been impressed!

Who is GOOD and tunes LT1's in Ontario?
