WHat are my options for LT1 tuning?
95TA LT1
Mainly Im having VATS issues now and I want to get rid of it, but I would also like to tune/diagnose the car later since the car already has some mods..BBK TB,headers etc..
My understanding is that I need at least an OBDII connector but the ECM is OBDI

Re: WHat are my options for LT1 tuning?
Got my connector on aldlcable.com i could be wrong but it was something along the lines of that. Shipping was fast i think it cost like 60-70 total. I know Claudio aka Cman on the board does lt1 tuning in the GTA and Flame does it aswell but you but have to talk to him and see. He's done both of cars and many others on the board with great results!

FYI Daz you can not use a serial to USB adaptor with the tuning cable. You are best to buy the USB cable since pretty much all laptops don't have the serial port anymore. I had to upgrade mine when the old laptop died.

Tunercats has a free trial version and as for datamaster i think its a free download. Other then that you will have to buy the full version of tunercats and your definition file to start tunning. Talk to Jay he has the software and probubly the closest and has done it a couple times.

The key is just worn or the ignition switch loose. When I rush inserting the key it wont start and the security light would be on. I have to wait a couple of minutes to start it again

Re: WHat are my options for LT1 tuning?
You can program the VATS out if you have the tuning software. Mine is off. Another option is to bypass it with a resistor at the ignition switch that matches the key.

Yeah he would have to do the resistor mod unless he rewires the starter circuit too. VATS fuel enable signal can be turned off in the PCM but the BCM has control over the starter relay.
