Post trunk mounted battery? anyone have issues a cayuga?
hello
im planning on relocating my battery to the trunk [spare tire well] and seeing as that it is technically in the same compartment i was wondering if anyone has done this and had issues at cayuga.. im going to run an optima dry cell so off gassing isnt an issue.. possibly even putting it in a marine box. i read in the rules a relocated battery needs a cutoff switch as well... that seems kind of stupid.

thoughts and opinions welcome

Lee

IIRC it should be in a vented box and needs a cut off switch. I use the key type cut off switches from Princess auto for my aux batteries in both of my cars. They were $2.00 each and theyre good enough if its just juice for the engine.

about 1 min of searching and the Cayuga website has the answer....go figure eh.

and the rear switch must kill the car when its running, not just cut power. they even tested that on mine there.
