trunk mounted battery? anyone have issues a cayuga?

  trunk mounted battery? anyone have issues a cayuga?hello
im planning on relocating my battery to the trunk [spare tire well] and seeing as that it is technically in the same compartment i was wondering if anyone has done this and had issues at cayuga.. im going to run an optima dry cell so off gassing isnt an issue.. possibly even putting it in a marine box. i read in the rules a relocated battery needs a cutoff switch as well... that seems kind of stupid. thoughts and opinions welcome Lee |

Re: trunk mounted battery? anyone have issues a cayuga? IIRC it should be in a vented box and needs a cut off switch. I use the key type cut off switches from Princess auto for my aux batteries in both of my cars. They were $2.00 each and theyre good enough if its just juice for the engine.

Switches Neutral safety switch required on all vehicles master battery cutoff mandatory 0-9.99 ET or if battery is relocated.* Battery Must not be located in the driver or passenger compartment.
