Post Caliper springs dragging 02 durango...
Replaced front brake calipers and theres a little rivet in the middle of the caliper spring that is dragging on the inside of the disk on one side causing it to squeel/squeak, and it's worn the rivet down a bit so it's flat and no longer rounded.
Here's some pictures what im talking about.

Can I just make a shim on the top of the one brake pad to force the caliper up that 1mm so it stops rubbing?
I flipped the pad shim around to give the spring more clearance but its not really meant for that...

Any ideas?

Also had the bleeder screws seeping a bit of fluid. I've since tightened them up more and cleaned up the seepage and will recheck after a few kms to see if they are leaking again. Is there a sealant for the bleeders or do they just need to be tighter?

I've run into this on a few. It seems that the rotor manufacturers have made the hub of the rotor slightly larger causing this to be an issue. This is not the only vehicle to have issues.

Yeah, i've got 245000km out of this engine so far, replaced both calipers couple weeks ago. I think that's pretty good.

What this tells me is that the replacement rotors I had put on there from ATE Premium One (not Dodge), are the issue here.
The Carquest rotors I used from 100000km-220000km, no issues like this.

Even the old anti squeal caliper springs dragged on these new disks. Not really bad, but they still dragged which tells me that what was posted above, is probably the real problem, the inner "hub" of the disc is a little too big.

The anti squeal shims don't raise the calipers up, all they do is keep the pads from vibrating around laterally.

Just wanted to update this.

It turned out to be faulty wheel bearings allowing for play in the hub. Not a good thing.

2 hours and a big 5lb ball peen hammer later, new wheel hub assembly installed and no more rubbing.

The last one I had on a Dakota was because the spindle was worn where the pads rest on letting it move closer to the hub
