Post Plug Wires
Hi Guys,

I need to get a set of plug wires with all 90* boots to fit my new headers. Anyone recommend a good set or brand? Last ones I put on were Accel and I was not impressed with them.

Also, does anyone here use locking header bolts? Are they really worth it?

Thanks for any input!

Colin

I know a lot of people have trouble with header bolts coming loose and having to use all kinds of fancy locking bolts, but I have regular Mr. Gasket bolts from CTC and have never had a problem. I installed them, let the car warm up for a bit, tightened them again, then took it for a good drive and tightened them one more time. They've been on the car for 5 years or more with no leaks and I haven't touched them since being installed.

I used Mr. Gasket Ultraseal gaskets (#5900 IIRC) FWIW. Gearwrenches are your friend :)

accel stuff is pretty poor.
taylor ends don't stay on well
msd is my favorite, ends stay on good and low resistance.
stage 8 locking bolts are the best ive used for the troubled cars that had backing off issues. never had to use them on my own but some cars just don't like to stay tight.

Great, thanks. I think I'll try the MSD 5562 street fire set.

I see those gaskets have square port shapes.

Will they work with any sbc heads?
