Post 3.70 or 4.10 with T56
On my build I went with 3.70 and was happy with the setup until the whining noise occurred. It is going in for warranty repair next week and if it turns out that the gear is defective, it will be fully covered and I may go with a higher gear. Just wondering about your opinions on how a 4.10 gear would suit the T56?
So far, everyone I have asked has mentioned to stick with the 3.70 for the Ford 9" I have currently installed. This poll however is totally for the 4.10's though it seems.

Why stick with the 3.70? This is a cruiser car that you love to rip it in on the weekends.

Having said that I've had both, and after having 4.10's with the T56 I'll never look back. So much more enjoyable driving around, and I can actually drive around in the city and get better mileage then before too.

The 3.7 is better for the street but the 4.10 is going to net you a lower et at the track. I run a 3.73 and love it with the t56 which Ive run 3.27, 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, and preferred the 3.73 over all of them. It really is more of a cam issue though

Definately right on the money on second half , gear choice has to match the engine , mainly dictated by the camshaft , check what the rpm range is for the cam and chose the gear set that is best to match that power bands RPM

I have 4.10's and don't see any reason to go with less...

About 2100rpm at 120km/h isn't bad.

Wow, totally unexpected votes gearing towards the 4.10's.

Only car I've seen with the 4.10 setup is Jay's car at dyno day, and his take off in first was impressive.

Will need to rethink my choice and give my selection next week.

I find the 3.73 easier to launch on the street with radials and I prefer the cruise RPM in sixth. Different strokes for different folks I guess

and to think the old hillbillies used to drive around with 410's with no overdrive, and you have 2 overdrives:)

4.10. It really behaves nicely for street usage.

I wanted 4.10/4.11's for my 9" but came across a deal for a set of 3.90's I couldn't pass up.

Went with the 4.11 gears. Didn't realize 4.10 was GM and 4.11 was for the Ford 9" installed.

City cruising was great today. Each gear felt great.

Hwy cruising was also good. I believe I was reving in the 1800rpm range instead of the usual 1500rpm range in 6th. No issues here.

Glad I switched and thanks for all the replies and opinions guys, it helped with making my decision. 8)
