temperature sensor on 700r4, but where?
Hey Guys. my car will get a "couple" more horses and i wanna have an eye on that 700r4 before things go bad. the idea is to install a temperature sensor. Many places and many opinions..
1) drill and tap the tranny pan and install the sensor there
2) replace a plug on the drivers side with the sensor
3) install an inline manifold on the return transmission line
4) install an inline manifold on the sending transmission line
im just looking for the best location to monitor that tranny. Having the sensor at the sending line is my choice right now. Any input?

I would install in the tranny it self.... I dont know if the 700R4 has a place to instal already there.... another way is the sending line and use one of those blocks that they use in MARINE to install sensors in lines for pressure and temperature.....

Run a good cooler and you won't have any heat issues. I put a gauge in mine and it never ran over 180 even after a couple 1/4 passes in 30 deg summer heat. My sender was in the pan.
