Re: NEW LT1 specs revealed
Im pretty surprised to see the cyl deactivation crap migrate over to the Vette. Its not overly reliable and it really limits anything more than mild aftermarket cam swaps because of the lifters. Probably just means a conventional lifter swap and away ya go with whatever cam ya want but first the new E92 ECM needs to be cracked so we can tune them which likely wont be much fun for the first few years or so im sure...

Re: NEW LT1 specs revealed
Ever tightening new fuel efficiency standards will likely mean a harder task for the aftermarket to modify OEM designs. In fact, despite marketing claims not all modifications are true performance enhancing. GM has a conservative estimate on the real torque and HP numbers released. Sometimes it's best to leave certain stock items alone.

Re: NEW LT1 specs revealed
And i JUST got an LS motor!
I don't get the comment that says they are the first to use direct injection on an overhead valve engine. Do they mean pushrod engine?

Re: NEW LT1 specs revealed
They will likely hack the pcm before the injector companies step up with something to use. That is the hold up with the 6cyl in the 5th gens once they are out of injector they have no options.

Re: NEW LT1 specs revealed
Agreed the injectors capabilities and learning how to tune them will be the first big hurdles to deal with. DI is really the only truly "new" technology to the Vette. We've all had the other stuff to play with for a few years now in trucks and camaros.
Once these engines hit the new trucks and Camaro the mod craze will be in full swing. Hope they prove as tough as the LS
