  this can't be goodI pulled the pan off my 700R4 to investigate why my trans only has 1st and reverse gear. After some reading I was hoping I had either a stuck TV valve or a broken governor. I drained the fluid, which was pretty dark and foul smelling and found all this junk on the bottom of the pan. It is all metallic so I figure something has broken/worn inside the trans. I'm not sure if i should bother to investigate further given what I have found here with the transmission still in the car and just pull the whole thing now.

Re: this can't be good Definitely not worth it man. You can pickup another 700-r4 and slap it in and call it a day...or you can rebuild yours..either way it doesnt look good.
