Oil pressure dropping on 95 ta, need experts advices please.
Oil level is ok, recently oiled change. Oil pressure 3/4 above red line. And once come to a stop, pressure goes down to red, and check engine lights comes on. It's not over heating. Anybody experience that before?. And what could it be and how much?.

Change your sending unit and see if that cures it.

No or low oil pressure at idle on my engine was the main bearings. They were worn out. Check everything else out first (like the oil pump etc) but does not sound good to me.

The show is this weekend Ray!
As i was saying on fb, you need to get a mechanical gauge on that thing before anything to rule out the motor if gauges are off which is very common. Once youve established that you have a couple things to check but let us know the above first and go from there.

Check the oil brand to see if it meets spec for your engine. A lot of newer oils dont protect the older engines properly ( no zinc mostly ) and seeing as you recently changed it.... But it doesnt sound good.
Speaking of sound any chattering or noises coming out of the thing? Did you check the dipstick for metal particles?

Been there before...
like stated above mechanical gauge first they usually don't lie, if still low check the oil pan for filings and also see what type of oil was used, hopefully it will be just the gauge thats fubar'd

It's not over heating. Anybody experience that before?. And what could it be and how much?. Very common problem with higher mileage/worn out LT1's, even SBC's. I don't know what weight oil you put in it, but I would check with a mechanical gauge for sure to verify the exact PSI rating on cold idle then hot idle. If it's still very low then I would change out the oil for a heavier weight, something like 15w40 or even 20w50 works VERY well on tired, old, worn out SBC's and LT1's or cars that are driven very very hard. I personally ran 15w40 in my LT1. Never saw less then 13psi of oil pressure on a HOT idle after 5 back to back hot-laps at TMP.
