Oh ya, they also said they toughen up the gear tapered face where the blocker rings touch by sandblasting or 120grit sandcloth to a certain proprietary roughness. I plan on doing mine while it's apart.

Re: T56 HELP - hard to shift into 3rd after rebuild
UPDATE: spoke to another guy at Liberty Gear this morning to order parts and he said NOT to roughen up the gear faces with the carbon fiber blockers.
They also only ship UPS so didn't get the parts there! It would be over $50 for shipping and brokerage all said and done. Got them from a local heavy truck Tremec dealer for a decent price.

Worth mentioning with the carbon blockers you need to break them in, and change the fluid. 1000kms or so should suffice of stop and go lots of shifts etc. Then once per season is wise. The fluid turns very metallic with those blockers in there.

haha that's like 2 years for my car! I'll have to cruise the streets at night for a while looking for trouble, but unable to shift hard.. so frustrating.
I may try HONDA synthetic ATF in there after the break-in. The guy at Liberty mentioned it.

I like the Canadian Tire house brand ATF for mine. I find the synthetic is more notchy feeling. Cant hurt to try it but if you want to know what the ACTUAL brand of the fluids you want to try is?

Re: T56 HELP - hard to shift into 3rd after rebuild
FINALLY got it back together and took it for a spin. Shifts perfectly with the new 3rd gear blocker and 3-4 sysnchro. Ended up getting the parts from thegearbox as Liberty Gears only ships ups to Canada.
Side note..where did everyone go from here? What boards are you guys on?
