DIY Paint
hey guys, Summer is comming and Im planning on getting my car on the road soon. Im planning on painting it myself, because I cant afford to have it painted or have the body work done professionally. I was wondering where to get paint from, because I tried to get some off summit after I saw decent results on tv on Trucks on spike tv, but they wont ship it to Canada. Any ideas/recommendations? Thanks -James

Re: DIY Paint
Ideal Supply is where I get mine. Any color you like, just give them the paint codes. They have a couple of different product lines with different pricing. If you're doing BC/CC then you'll find that the clear & activator costs quite a bit more than the base.
I've used various guns and compressors. HVLP is best bet.

Re: DIY Paint
There is a place called Cawthra Automotive here in Mississauga that supplies paint....All they need is the paint code and they can get in in w/e format you want.

find a uap with a CMAX oem paint can be found there Ideal Supply is a NAPA affiliate so that may be why they have it. I know the mix some paints at the Shelburne store, stopped mixing in Orangeville but they can order it in mixed anyway.

Re: DIY Paint
I've used these guys before and they are excellent to deal with and match OEM paint to perfection. You need to send it to a depot (either USPS or UPS) in Buffalo or Niagara falls and pick it up and bring it over. Much cheaper that way. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/
