Post Install-Rear Hatch support lifts..anyone changed them?
First time they have needed to be replaced.
the new ones are freaking scarey! when the hatch opens it OPENS! they are like rockets.
do not like that..they seem too strong.
i also notice that now the rear spoiler area/hatch is not sitting flush on one side.
can these gas lifts be adjusted or is it an issue with the mechanical lift motor assembly that requires adjustment?
anyone that has replaced these 75 buck a piece beauties let me know any issues or tips.

There are several types of hatch lifts.

With spoiler...With spoiler and rear wiper...With with wiper but no spoiler...no wiper or spoiler...You get the idea.

Each lift has a difference weight rating. Installing a lift designed to lift the extra weight of a spoiler and wiper on a "non" hatch will cause the hatch to lift quicker and with more force.

I installed new lifts (with spoiler) on my 89 with came with a 3-piece spoiler. It opens very quick. I may have to change to a non spoiler lift later on.
