| Post subject: | How to re-attach door sweeps? |
Need to re-attach the door sweeps to the top of the door sill. Look like the rivets are missing. I was thinking small screws.  Anyone have a tip as to the best way to go about this?Also, whats the best way to remove the metal clips (gray round metal things) from the door sill so I can attach the door panel? Thanks

Pop rivets with large washers maybe? |

Yea, I was thinking possibly flat screws with washers from home depot. |

Post pics of the final fix. I'm also trying to figure out how to fix the sill. Some of the plastic pieces that the metal clip screws on to are broken. I removed the remaining clips using a needle nose pliers and twisting off. Also, where the clips hold the door panel to the sill are all ripped  Need a creative fix for these. Anyway, keep us posted on your task! |

I ended up using #8 x 1/2" screws (big head) as I had lots of them. Drilled a pilot hole first to get things going. They work surprisingly well. Just remember that the small head screws won't work. Tried the hot glue gun but it didn't want to stick. Still can't remove the metal clips though. Broke three trying to screw them off with the needle nose pliers.

I used snap ring pliers the other day to remove the metal rings. It was a pain, but worked. |
