Post My beater 86
This fall I tossed a little 10" I had kicking around into my 86 Camaro, fits perfectly were the spare tire goes, pleased with the turn out, come spring i only need to replace the head unit and run the Bass controler to the front.

Nothing crazy fancy at all, nice small but still sounds good, I used some spare KenWood 6x9's and Clarion 4x6 Dash speakers in stock locations to compliment the sub, everything was spare parts I had kicking around except the sub box. The deck that was in it is an old Sony that has seen better days, the volume bottons are no longer working properly and the CD doesnt play anymore, so need to upgrade that next year.

P.S. Of the product, MB Quart, specialy the older stuff like this sub, before they got bought out, are good, but the PowerBase amp SUX, never buy one, total waist of $$

P.S.S. Yes car needs a good vacuming, and yes my phone camera sux, lol

What are the dimentions of that box? My car came with a pair of 10s but they occupy the same space as the t-tops when they're off. This seems so much better than putting them on the hump.

This is the exact box, I just flipped it upside down so the thin end was facing down then bolted it in, the air volume matched my MB Quart sub perfectly

Thanks Hawk. I'm not too worried about volume being right as long as it fits. The setup that came with my car was the 2 10s and a pair of tweeters mounted to a particle board plank that sat over the sump with no amp, just some sort of frequency filter thing.

That just sounds weird, lol  I think a JL W3 would sound awesome in there, but I never test fitted one of my spare ones in the box, so not sure if the mounting depth is there

If I could I'd take a pic of it to show you 'cause I've never seen anything like it befor or since. Believe it or not I thought it sounded good. They added a nice deep bottom end, but t-tops have priority. I'll build the box and wire up what I have minus 1 sub and both tweeters and see how that sounds. I think it should be all I need.

I just finished building the box. Does it need to be ported or is it good to go without putting any more holes in it?

Ok. Seeing as my sub is probably 20+ years old I'll roll the dice and see how it is sealed then.
