If you're doing a ground-up rebuild, have you thought about moving to an LSx? Even a stock 6L LQ4 will make more power then a mild/bolt-on LT1 and be a lot more reliable.

I have thought about swapping it, but i like the fact of having what originally came with the car motor wise with just a little more umpfh in the power band, i would have loved to swap a newer style lsx but i like to keep the car stock looking as possible even the engine staying lt1

it would be nice to pick up a LSA from the ZL1 then swap that in knowing the price of it brand new from GM ;)

If it needs a crank then I would def build a 383 the extra cubes will help move the heavy beast!
