Weird, I didn't think I'd get much positive feedback. I get the typical "why you wasting your time with a V6 ?" around here all the time... You know you could build a 350 for XXX$ and run XXX.

What do LS1 driveshafts hold up to for power ? I'd think a healty LS1 with T56 trans should pound the #$%^ out of a driveshaft...Haven't looked into it to be honest.

Yeah I don't run much tire pressure in the FWD car, it hooks a bit better and launches more consistently with them at 8-9 pounds I found. I must have 3-400 passes on that damn thing if not more. haha. I've tried it all (twice).

That's because people like unique [especially when it's fast ] I know of a guy with a 68 Camaro original 6cly 3 speed standard car that he did a beautiful restoration on anywhere he goes , he's the only one and you wouldn't believe the crowds it draws 8)

3/4's doesn't mean all of them. The majority of cars on here don't have half the mods your 2ndgen has. His 6cyl/Turbo setup is sweet, don't see it everyday.

So, I've been driving the car around. Pulls very well at only 6 psi. It is WAY to loud with the sidepipe though...

So, I purchased this system from Daz...

That's what I started with. Cut the cat off, cut off a non-mandrel bend section, ditched the heavy muffler and ended up with this :

Very lightweight and should quiet it down a tad hopefully...

Yeah, I used what I could of the 3" stuff... Makes a darn nice slashcut single tip now.

Us canadians get RIPPED on buying mandrel bends and pipe.

Jegs sells "U" bends for like 14$ ea.. I bought 3 of them last week from a local speedshop, came up to 145$. LOL. So, I cut up and salvage what I can, when I can.

Damn, seems expensive for a stupid bend of pipe. heh.

Anyways :

Bit more progress and new (used) wheels

3.5" downpipe being built. (ahh, look how cute the old small 3" one is)

Note the cutout plate to be welded in and an electronic 3.5" cutout installed for when immidiate spool is required.

Wheels, Centerline knockoffs 15X8.5 :

Wheels installed :

the hood and wheels make it look "fast"... id go with the stock hood and some stockers or atleast paint them black or something for the sleeper look. your looking for the wtf sign on people faces when you blow by them lol.

The centerlines have my slicks mounted on them so they are just for track use. The hood I got a good deal on so I went ahead with it. I wanted a non-cowl stock aPpearing Harwood hood but the price was right on it. Hopefully painting it soon.

Thought I'd update this...

Car in race mode.

Image

3500 V6 badges and I painted the hood flt. blk.

Image

Got a clean pass at 15 psi and went 11.26 @ 126 at TMP Cayuga. (without a cage)

So, to really push the engine (22-24) psi, I'll need C-clip elims, driveshaft hoop, cage, ext wheelstuds, other stuff I'm sure.

Vid of a "slow" run, (I was in an 11.50 heads up index race, so I just stayed in front...)

Drove the car to work all sumer long, good on gas, don't burn oil.
