My project...Another 2-3 years to go...
My Thirdgen experience in a nutshell...
2004 Wasaga Beach at sunset
2004 CCFBG Street Classics
2004 3 weeks after buying the car from a guy in MA.
2004 Interior shot
2004 Engine bay
2005 Engine bay, collapsed lifter
2005 Engine bay, new valvetrain and upper intake
Nov 15, 2005, crashed the red one into a ditch. Inexperience 1, Merc3065 0.
April 2006, replacement found!
Looks good right?
No rust right?
Nice and clean and shiny right?
Fenders look straight right?
Interior looks amazing and clean!
Newly recovered tan seats!
This thing looks awesome, proper notchback seats!
Sunlight does wonders for pictures
Engine bay is pretty clean
Why does a notchback have a banshee nose?
Steering wheel, not my style...needs recovering anyhow.
Why does an Iowa car have TX plates? Is that over spray I see flaking off...
Battery is hiding a very rusty battery tray...
The radio pod hit this mess...
At least the underside is clean.
Time for the transplant...
Sad day to see your first car like this.
Time to get rid of the blown rear diff...
Transplanted new diff
Transmission is in
Replace that banshee nose...Which was hiding a completely destroyed reinforcement bar and a damaged rad lower cross member.
Franken cars...
Transplant the good doors
Rattle can black looks better than mismatched paint colours
New KYB GR2 shocks and struts
Looks good in the dark eh?
Transplant the good tail lights
Finalizing engine installation
Looks good in there...
New wire holders
Fenders are all dinged up...
New reinforcement bar
As much as I like the old hood, I like this one better.
Transplanted axle was bent on pass side. Needed it replaced, so I bought both sides just in case.
Sub frames - Bolt on from competition engineering.
Finalized picking the old chassis clean... Sad day
Off to the drag strip in the sky...:dead:
And now that I'm getting married next year, the car will probably never see the light of day for at least the next 2 years. But on the plus side, I'm getting married!
