Post My project...Another 2-3 years to go...
My Thirdgen experience in a nutshell...

Image 2004 Wasaga Beach at sunset

Image 2004 CCFBG Street Classics

Image 2004 3 weeks after buying the car from a guy in MA.

Image 2004 Interior shot

Image 2004 Engine bay

Image 2005 Engine bay, collapsed lifter

Image 2005 Engine bay, new valvetrain and upper intake

Nov 15, 2005, crashed the red one into a ditch. Inexperience 1, Merc3065 0.

Image April 2006, replacement found!

Image Looks good right?

Image No rust right?

Image Nice and clean and shiny right?

Image Fenders look straight right?

Image Interior looks amazing and clean!

Image Newly recovered tan seats!

Image This thing looks awesome, proper notchback seats!

Image Sunlight does wonders for pictures

Image Engine bay is pretty clean

Image Why does a notchback have a banshee nose?

Image Steering wheel, not my style...needs recovering anyhow.

Image Why does an Iowa car have TX plates? Is that over spray I see flaking off...

Image Battery is hiding a very rusty battery tray...

Image The radio pod hit this mess...

Image At least the underside is clean.

Image Time for the transplant...

Image Sad day to see your first car like this.

Image Time to get rid of the blown rear diff...

Image Transplanted new diff

Image Transmission is in

Image Replace that banshee nose...Which was hiding a completely destroyed reinforcement bar and a damaged rad lower cross member.

Image Franken cars...

Image Transplant the good doors

Image Rattle can black looks better than mismatched paint colours

Image New KYB GR2 shocks and struts

Image Looks good in the dark eh?

Image Transplant the good tail lights

Image Finalizing engine installation

Image Looks good in there...

Image New wire holders

Image Fenders are all dinged up...

Image New reinforcement bar

Image As much as I like the old hood, I like this one better.

Image Transplanted axle was bent on pass side. Needed it replaced, so I bought both sides just in case.

Image Sub frames - Bolt on from competition engineering.

Image Finalized picking the old chassis clean... Sad day

Image Off to the drag strip in the sky...:dead:

And now that I'm getting married next year, the car will probably never see the light of day for at least the next 2 years. But on the plus side, I'm getting married!

Left the shop shortly after I towed the old chassis away.
It was in mid to late 2006.

Car then sat at Mr. Bastard's for almost a year until early 2007 or 2008, cant remember which.

Then hauled it back to my parents house.

Had some welding work done to the subframes where it was torn from either a tow truck idiot or a frame machine. Not sure which...
Now some rust has set in where the welds were done as the guys who did the welds, didnt seal the interior side of the floor pans afterwords.

Can't wait to tackle that f - up....

I drove it some last year.

It's parked for now, silently developing a bad case of rusty floor boards.

It'll be going to the body shop to get structurally fixed and have the sub frames welded in as well as the rest of the bumps and bruises repaired and fixed.
While it's there I'll get the body shop to treat the rusty spots and POR 15 or Rust Bullet the interior to stop the rust from spreading.
