I stopped in at Straightline to drop off the new rubber, and there is a beautiful '91 Formula with Ronals getting an LS1 swap. A possible members car, there was a CCFG sticker on the windshield...

Finally got the Camaro home this past weekend. Unfortunately there is an issue(s) somewhere, and Straightline could not solve it. The car runs good cold, but once it warms up it bucks and stalls, and the check engine light flickers. The ECM is not storing any codes, and just about every sensor has been replaced. Needless to say I did some poking around myself and found the ignition coil was not reinstalled on the bracket, it is just laying on the intake manifold. Argh...

Daz.

I will look at the CTS, and perhaps order a replacement from GM. I wish the ECM would throw a trouble code.

Put it on a scanner. I had the same problem with a buddies TBI 350 in his truck. The CTS took a dump but didnt throw a code, but the Snap-On scanner was showing that the the CTS for the ECU was telling the ECU it was -68*C when it was 25+ that day. The thing was running crazy rich WHEN it would run which was crazy to get going.

Unplugged the sensor, the thing ran perfectly fine just a tad rich, replaced the sensor and it was golden, ran like a top again.

Post Re: 1989 IROC-Z Hardtop 350TPI
I may have stumbled onto something tonight. While troubleshooting I disconnect the MAF to verify the ECM was pulling codes. The ECM in fact pulled the code 33 for the MAF. I reconnected the MAF and removed the fuse for the ECM to reset the code.

I restarted the car and it idled well, around 650rpm for 3-4 minutes. Suddenly the rpms jump up and down, 1500rpm and back down the about 500rpm. During this "fit" the SEL light flashes rapidly on and off.

I turned the car off and attempted to pull any code(s) that may have been stored. After jumping the ADL, the ECM started to flash the code 12 and then suddenly stopped. I happened to notice the battery voltage gauge was way down at 8-9 volts. Is this normal because the fans are running with the car off while pulling the codes? I would assume the voltage drop would wipe out any codes during the process.

Battery voltage is 12.34vdc with the car off. I will put the multimeter on the power supply wire at the ECM and monitor it tomorrow to see if the ECM is losing power, and cycling.
