Got it all together, butt dyno not feeling much improvement :x

Need some input advise, I am trying to figure out why when I check/set timing it shows my initial timing as 21 deg ?????? If I try to bring it back to what would be closer to normal like 8 deg, it don't idle very well. Checked TDC with timing mark and itl lines up good. Just lost. Car doesn't feel strong at all, I am getting frustrated :arg:

You have to unplug it to set your timing, I am on my phone so can't send u the link on TGO

there should be a brown wire with a plug on the firewall someplace(by the distributor), unplug it a let the car idol, set base timing to 6 degrees.(edit the wire is by the heating box)

can you turn(the distributor) untill it to reads 6 degrees or is something binding that will not allow it to, than plug it in. also you might have to set your a coupel of other things http://www.thirdgen.org/tpimod2

I can turn it back until I read 8-10 but the car will barely run at that point,,,going to read through the link now.

another thing to check is to go over all of your vacuum lines again. your might have a small leak that will screw with you idle. Also i had this happen to me, i had a bad spark plug(actually 2) that was arcing out against the headers causing an idle issue.. One other thing i would check is to make sure you have the wires to the spark plugs right, i have done this to many cars and once in a while i still slip and not put the wires on right. the firing order is 18436572

I will go over those thing you mentioned, its got new plugs/wires, did some vac lines yesterday. Its been like this for the last couple years, timing thing makes no sense to me, and I feel like the engine has not fully realized its potential for the mods it has.

Would be great if you want to stop by tomorrow afternoon :D

Go back and check to see if you havent installed the plug wires in the wrong order. It can happen and it would explain your issues. Also have you checked to see if the distributor is in the right way? Im sure the TPI guys will know but is it possible the distributor is installed wrong? Also check your coil, ignition module and MAF.

Set it to 6 degrees then set the IAC then the TPS. If it wont run long enough to set it then set it as close as you can(8-10 degrees), set the IAC/TPS and then reset the timing to 6 degrees(it should run this this time) set the IAC/TPS again.

Well I think I made some progress. I cranked the timing down to 6 degree's, set the IAC until the car would run on its own, tweaked the TPS now it idles pretty good at 800 rpm in gear. Replaced vacum lines that go to the canister.
I may try to get the idle down a little further, but why mess with a good thing right now!

Another question, threw my fuel pressure gauge on and with vac line unhooked it was at 49 psi....when I turn car off it falls right down to 5-10psi shouldn't it hold pressure?

IM not an expert but I beleive that it should hold pressure for awhile. If its falling of right away one or more of the injectors may be leaking down and performing poorly while running.

check the regulator if its leaking or any leaks in the line.

Did you check the voltage sweep of the TPS?

Don't see/smell any fuel leaks anywhere. I will check to see if any injectors aren't fully seated.

TPS sweeps smooth, at full throttle it is at 4.1 Volts
