newest build at schmitt tuning is this 1982 chevrolet camaro.

it is going to be built to scca spec to run gt2 or gt3 at regional events.

car is already fitted with roll cage.

budget is super tight for this build so the plan is to fabricate as much as possible while leaving the
available moneys for tires, suspension and brakes.

the car will get an ls1 t56 combo, ls1 front and rear brakes
and a ton of aerodynamic mods.

the idea is to maximize aerodynamic efficiency of the car.

the mods include:front adjustable splitter and rear diffuser. addition of skirts to the factory units, rear wing, and side vents for front and rear wheel wells.
if the budget allows, i would also like to replace all the glass with lexan for its light weight characteristics.

the drivetrain will be relocated 8-10 inches rearward and 2 inches lower for better weight distribution and overall balance.
this will also allow for more room in the front of the engine to redesign and build a better air damn for the radiator and coolers aswell as creating an exit for the air through the
hood.

the deadline is april of 2013. so progress hopefully will be speedy!

the fab work has begun...

Wise move re the tick. Should seriously invest in a QT bell for safety as well for your car

You should run this in CSCS time attack. Show those import guys what an f body can do when built right.

definatly planning on attending cscs at some point in the near future. for now we r just getting our feet wet with learning the tracks, and fine tuning the car. seat time is crtical but expensive. so we have to be selective with how and when we use it.

ill be at mosport ddt this sunday for spda club lapping day. too bad its supposed to rain all day...
