project undo, the strory of my 95 Z28
after spending way to much time on kijiji i found a 95 camaro, that was up for sale or trade, so i went and took a look at it and ended up trading my old Lincoln and 1000 bucks for this. this was the picture from the ad the old Lincoln, it was a 01 LS V6, 5spd manual, with about 180k the guy i bought it from said he was selling it for a friend, the car was sitting for a long time, and had a very rough life. it has 128kms and many questionable modifications i'm trying to undo. this is just a quick list of what i have uncovered so far. -number one and the worst thing is the lambo door kit. i just bought a set of hinges off of vetty to get rid of those -next was the hacked up dash around the stereo to fit a screen, thanks again to vetty for selling me replacement parts. -it also had a wings west front lip. -some loud muffler and uneven tips -cant remember what brand of shocks and front lowering springs -poly front control arm bushings -rear coils were cut to short and then someone put spring boosters to lift it back up -cowl hood (i didn't like it at first but its growing on me) -ricer fog lights -huge spoiler (looking to replace it with an ss spoiler) -american raceing torque thrust II, i liked this -recent tune up with new water pump and opti -needs outer tierod ends -brakes are getting low -needs driver side window motor now for some more pics... when i picked it up it was very dirty, inside and out. sitting at work next to by old beater civic and my dads winter GXP way to low needs front seats after a wash proof someone actually thought this was a good idea started polishing the wheels they still need more work but its getting better took the lip and fog lights off bondo from the lip and just before i put it in storage well over the winter i'm going to keep buying parts to get it ready for spring, for now most of the work will be fixing things caused by the last guy. I will update this as the car improves, and sorry about the long post.

Good story, cars looking WAYYYY better minus that front lip and fogs already. Lambo doors? They're so lame they dont even put them on lambos anymore

Re: project undo, the strory of my 95 Z28
That rear spoiler only looks good WITH ground effects, weird to have a front lip and spoiler but no other effects, for non ground effect cars I like the 6LE designs spoiler or the stock 98-02 SS style one http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/pro ... cts_id=546I actually didn't mind that chin spoiler, but looked real stupid without the rest of the effects around the car, cant run one without the other IMO, also at least the Wings West stuff was decent quality, goes to tell you just how bad the other aftermarket kits really are like RKSport and Extreme Dimension, eek!! I hope u enjoy your new ride, build it the way YOU like it, not the way the rest of us do, we all got different ideas on what is nice and what isn't

ya those doors are embarrassing, its the first thing i will be removing when i take the car out of storage. that 6le spoiler is awesome, to bad it costs more then i make in a week haha. i think i'm going to replace my big spoiler with a 98-02 ss spoiler when i find one for the right price. oh and i found a picture of my dads old Z28, man i miss that car, its what got me hooked to f-bodys

Re: project undo, the strory of my 95 Z28
well, i started polishing another wheel, and my arm feels like its going to fall off... im thinking about just polishing the lips and painting the centers gloss black. polishing the whole rim takes to much time haha. started cleaning it you can see how bad it is. after getting it cleaned up with the rotary tool after sanding with 1000 grit still didn't use polish but my arms are to tired

TT2s look really nice when they are clean but they are a freaking paint to keep up. I had them on my old 94 Trans Am and although mine werent as bad as yours i still had to do a 3 stage polish on each wheel to keep them looking new. When you get them to the point of done use a wax to coat the rims it makes for easier clean up later.

Yep^. Any polished alum finished wheel is a pitfa to keep clean. Welds etc. Look great, but painful to maintain. A little tip that helps a lot is to run ceramic pads, they dont eat into the wheels like the metallic pad dust does.

Looking good, this may be a bit of a redneck tip. On my old vette i had to polish the dish on them so i simply put the car on stand and left it in 2nd gear and let the car do the work lol. Started with 180-250-400-600-800-1000-1500-2000-polished. Worked awesome and took 20min tops. Obviously not the safest method.

Stop at 600 grit and finish with Tripoli. Less work and it'll come out better.
