Post Project: 94 Fire-Am! Last Video of this Build
As some of you may or may not know ive been on a hunt for the longest time waiting to finish my school so i can buy an Firebird of my own. That time has finally come and i picked up a 94' LT1 Formula thanks to some help from the mechanic ive just started to work with for the past little while. He knew this car as the lady that owned it bought it new and he was the only one thats put the wrench time in on this car. Its a one owner car and lady driven and has a whoping 323,000 on the clock. I know what your thinking thats extremely high for a car thats going to get "exersized" on some occasions.

The opti finally pooped out on it and the lady decided to put the car up for grabs as she wanted to buy a newer car. This car is super clean and has all the maintenance all up to snuff so this car has been well taken care of. Since my mechanic picked the car up because hes done a couple opti's on mine a couple over lt1 guys car he figured what the hell and try and fix it up. All new brakes all around, new alternator, water pump, opti, plugs/wires, timing belt, and fuel pump were all recently done to get it running mint. This turned out to be a great deal i got it cheap and all the bad lt1 stuff that goes has been done and if something goes i can work on it at the shop on my time.

Now to the car its dark forest green and the paint is in real good shape for the amount of kms but has the usual spider webbing on the front bumper and the off rock chips to be expected on a highway driven car. The interior is tan cloth and is in real good shape no stains or burns anywhere and shows well. Its got t-tops which was the only thing i needed to know about the car as i have to have a summer driven car.

I got the car very cheap with the high kms being the downside but everything has been gone through and will by the time it hits the road this spring. Getting the car cheap was a huge upside as now i have a lot of my savings for MODS. Ive had my T56 in the basement ready for my dads t/a but now that i bought my own i have the option on using it. Ive got the trans ripped apart as we speak getting upgraded from Six Speeds Inc. New clutch kit and aluminum Fidanze flywheel coming from Curstis75 shorlty. The rearend pinion was bad and had 2.73s to begin with which will be useless once the T56 goes in so im going for a set of 3.73s that will accomodate this car very well.

Appearance wise ive got my hands on a set of Max Sport 962s mounted on a set of Kuhmo 275/40/ZR17s that will greatly help the appearance of the car as those salad shooter style alloys look hideous. Right now ive got my hands tied trying to get my hands of a WS6 style ram air hood. Costs are reasonable but the shipping isnt so thats where im trying to figure out the best alternatives.

Mods begin in March when i get some free time in at the shop to start the tear down and reassemble it.

Here's some Pics: (not mine but to give you an idea)

Why thank yah

Got my hands full deciding on whether to find a 3 series complete rear to swap in or go with a set of gears made for the 2 series carrier. The ram air hood is on hold as i think it will to much of a bind to send that kind of money to get something that fragile put in shipment to get banged around. Also looking at pick up a t/a rear hatch with the whale tail for that firehawk look.

Looks like fun. I have a Formula project of my own, and was thinking about going with those wheels, or potentially Fikse's (depneding on the cash flow).

How do you like the wheels, any issues with them?

Well a long awaited arrival but they are now here and look quite good but doesnt look like too much for 185 bucks haha. I pulled the trans apart to make sure i wasnt going to have to pull it apart once it gets installed to find out something isnt right. So with the highly sought after Six Speeds Inc or formely T56Rebuilds i went to them for my upgraded parts. I waited almost three weeks for them to ship my parts to find out that they lost it and never contacted me about it. If i make a stink about it i probubly wouldnt of gotten any parts period. So once they figured out that the parts were lost and four arrival times later they came through. I needed my parts asap to get it back together and in my car. Got them to pull a couple strings and i got them as of yesterday. For a big name corporation i was totally disapointed in the service i received from them. Next time around ill deal with D&D for parts.

My Parts:

Upgraded Steel 3-4 Shift Fork
1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and Reverse Bronze Fork Pads
Couple seals as they stockers have seen better days

Well today i made my way into Brampton to meet up with Dean "warp10" to re-assemble the t56 after the new parts arrived on Friday. Things went very smooth with a couple hickups but we got it back together within 3-4 hours which was very quick. We decided since available when i get my tune done for the m6 swap and 4.10s i can disable the skip shift so we left out the engagement member.

Here's Some Pics!

UPDATE: March 8th 2008

Well today was a wonderful day to go travelling for parts witnessing countless accidents on the 401. If only people just took there time to get places winter driving would be so much easier to drive and not worry about the idiot in the next lane. ANYHOOT!

First stop today was in guelph to meet up with Ryan "1987ZTPI" to pick up my 4th gen 4.10 rearend. New Motive gears and bearings with only 1000kms run time on them so should add a nice touch with 6 speed swap. The second stop was in Waterloo to meet up with Dan "flame" to pick up a set of Eibach Sportline springs that should compliment my Max Sport rims and tires very well!!! PCM is now tuned for a 6 spd and the 4.10 gear swap so my speedo is in sync and not 160kph when its only going 100kph.

Here's Some Pics:
