Well got the trans back in and got to tuning again. Yet another problem my injectors arent keeping up with the motor. Shitty as accel 30s are junk 10k and thats it on them. Got a set of low km Ford SVO 30lb Red Tops coming in from Ottawa in the next day or so. We'll see what else i have to replace after i get the injectors in! :arg:

I wish you would have asked me about the Accels,I had a friend with them on his engine pure junk

I was told that originally after i bought these accels when i was building the motor but was just trying to get it together and didnt look for better set. Just picked up a set of 30lb Ford SVO Red Tops with under 10k on them from Ottawa and shipping was crazy fast went out yesterday and arrived this afternoon! Unfortunatly these injectors are discontinued so buying new would be a hard task to try and find a new set. Could be yet another reason why it wouldnt pull past 6k! We'll find out soon enough.

You and me both. The new injectors are working well but its still having an airflow issue and runs out of steam at 6100. Best case scenario is the springs can be reshimed for higher seat pressure. Mid case scenario is im into a set of springs. Worst case scenario heads have to be pulled as they are not sealing. Need to find what im into so we know what were up against and if the heads have to come off ill just drive it as is for the summer and do it next year. I want to drive my car for alteast part of the summer this year its been out at Dans since late May

Good new is the heads seal so they dont have to be pulled! Upon inspection #1 rocker was showing wear from the guideplate hitting it. New rocker is on order. Found out that the builder set the PAC 1518 were springs to 1.800 and was getting 131lb on the seat. Lloyd rec'd 145-150lb so this is where my issue is. There has been alot of threads ive seen with the newer more aggressive cam grinds out there that require a spring with high spring rates. Not knowing 100% what the springs are and how many km were on them we are swapping them out as i did not purchase them or know if they were used with the heads when i got them. Going all out as i do not want to bust a spring and do serious damage to the motor. So im going with the Patriot Extreme Gold Duals rated .660 lift and with the current spring height of 1.800 these springs sit at 155lb vs 131lb on the seat. This should ultimately fix the 6100rpm runout and pull without a sweat to 6500+ to get the extra power this cam is waiting to put down! Getting there 8)

You'll like the double springs. The added protection of the inner spring is a bit of piece of mind. I'm on my 2nd set, first was with the stock heads, 100K, 2nd set now and already 30k into it.

The spring kit is on order. The Patriot Exteme's were on 6-8+ week backorder and still who knows if they will be avail. Called around and couldnt find a set anywhere that might have been in stock with no luck. Ended up dealing with Lloyd Elliott and chatted with him on the phone with my problem and what he currently runs now since the springs are not avail for his head combos. He runs a Crane 99893 Double spring with assorted parts to made a kit to use with lt1s since the springs are actually SBC. Springs are ordered and should be here Wed. Fingers crossed she pulls to 6500 and this fixes the issue were trying to solve and get some corrected numbers!

Well springs arrived last week and we got them in the car and they are doing there job. Although peak airflow is still around 6100 it will pull to the 6400 no problem which is alot safer off. Tune is now completed and the car is just about ready to bring home. A small but again a minor setback the back two passenger header bolts came loose and blew the gasket! Just isnt my year it seems for being able to just drive the car. Bringing the car home this weekend to start putting the miles on it to get it ready for its trip to the Dayton, Ohio for the TA Nats end of August. Dan is pure fed up with working on LT1s again  He has been a huge help getting it tuned and fixing the bumps in the road since getting it in late May from me! Highly recommend his work... thanks 8)
