Newb to the 3rd gen world
Hey Guys
Newb to the board. Just bought a 88 GTA. Nice shape, all original. My first car 15 years ago was an 83 Z so it's nice to have a 3rd gen again as again weekend car. From the oshawa area If anyone else Is say hello.

Re: Newb to the 3rd gen world
Need to get a new spoiler. I take the repro fiberglass is the best way to go? Having some issues with the VATS system. After she gets hot if you pull the key out of the Ignition it won't let you start It for 7 minutes. After emissions test tomorrow I'm going or see about getting a chip tuned to eliminate it

Re: Newb to the 3rd gen world
Ah yes, the curse of those is the rear spoiler. I havent really been keeping up with the latest options on the aftermarket for those but hawks third gen is a good place to start. Im sure someone on here knows more

Yup. The wings on these cars suck. Mine needs a wing too Hawks does have a fiberglass replacement as does Paradise Ally.

Re: Newb to the 3rd gen world
Priced paradise. 425 to get one which isn't too bad I guess. Then just have to get it painted. I have the factory one but the guy I bought the car from cut off the tails that go up the hatch. I'm not sure what he was thinking.....

That's where they disintegrate first.

Re: Newb to the 3rd gen world
I bought mine from Paradise and it was a perfect fit. The only way you can tell it isn't original is that it's almost two perfect, there is no "waves" in the spoiler at all, unlike the rubber ones. And they weight a heck of alot less, less stress on the hatch struts.

Re: Newb to the 3rd gen world
I know this is late and behind, but I also have a fiberglass wrap around from paradise. Great fit, minimal prep for prime and paint! And it's about 15lbs (rough guess) compared to what must have been around 30 or more that the original was... I thought I needed new struts for the hatch, then I put this one on and my struts now lift the hatch up just fine.

Re: Newb to the 3rd gen world
Nice car but i am biased. I also have the fiberglass spoiler from paradise alley, on the car for about 9 years and no issues.
