Post LOW COOLANT LIGHT
Driving home yesterday I had the Low Coolant light come on...The temp stayed perfect, and when I checked the coolant in the rad and res. bottle the levels were perfectly fine and not a drop of coolant anywhere...So I'll assume my low coolant sensor has gone bad, just wondering if there is a quick electrical test I can do to confirm this...thanks

It is common for the float to get stuck. If you unplug the sensor the light will go out.

Sometimes you can clean them up with a toothbrush and vinegar.

I just unplugged mine, useless shit cuts into mod money

Your an enthusiast, you read your gauges and check your coolant so its redundant

You guys are so helpfull  ...just kidding   ...was thinking the same thing, just unplug it...and yes I do gauge watch constantly...being an LT1 they get hot and my eyes are glued to my temp gauge more than the speedometer!!!
Think I'll try cleaning it up and see what happens and keep my money to pay for my new LCA's and Panhard that should be at my door soon.

With an ewp it shouldn't leak coolant so its just a dummy light and if and when you get really bored it might be something to do and grab a new sensor if its not repairable. The modding unfortunatly always gets in the way on maintenance

To me its not maintenance, its redundant and not required.

Besides its a dealer only part so you get ass raped for something useless.

I'm sure the same sensor is used is many GM cars, so if I'm going to replace it I'll try my luck with the wreckers...Some GM dealer parts are beyond extreme for prices, $55 each for a 4th gen wiper blade or over 2 grand for a 3.42 ring & pinion set for a 10 bolt...Seriously?!?!

They can leak anywhere, water pump is just one spot.

True say but for us LT1 folks it can leak anywhere just aslong as its not the pump to piss on the opti. Glad i dont have to deal with that shit anymore! EFI 24x FTW!

Post Re: LOW COOLANT LIGHT
I've not got a leak anyplace...coolant level is perfect in the rad and overflow bottle, just disconnected it for now as it's been way to hot to deal with anything on the car
Would prolly be a great time to look into why my AC isn't working
