Front Lower Control Arms removal
I've got a 95 Camaro. How in the hell do you remove the rear bolts on the lower control arms? I've got the nuts loose but they aren't budging upwards whatsoever. It is the only bolt left before I can start replacing bushings and ball joints.

Re: Front Lower Control Arms removal
The bolt is seized to the metal sleeve in the bushing. Break out the BFH.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I'll need to find a sledge somewhere and some force.

No go. Took an hour to the bolts and they didn't even move. Only thing I can think of is to start cutting and get new bolts.

Get out the map gas torch (yellow bottle) and get some heat into the bolt then when its glowing give it a nice whack with the BFH. If that doesn't break it loose, you will need to cut it.

Re: Front Lower Control Arms removal
Can you get an air chisel on it?...those things do a ton of work and come in handy getting bolts/bushings out, although will destroy them.

Re: Front Lower Control Arms removal
Was going to come in and give you guys an update. THEY ARE OUT!!! Small propane torch. Heated the bottom of the bolt, tightened the bolt, loosened it, and then used a hammer. Repeated that process a few times and both came out without a problem. I already have new bolts bought from the dealership and a co-worker is replacing my bushings and ball joints as we speak. After that is done, putting the car back together .
