Check out the classifieds on ls1tech.com you can find anything on there and you'll spend half what new costs for a decent set of used shocks.

I got new shocks installed but now one side is higher then the other by over a inch, any idea why that would happen?

I didn't install them myself so I am not sure but when the bigger rims were put on I noticed the difference in height between the top of the tire to the fender even before we installed the new shocks.I thought it was just on a uneven driveway and one tire was put on backwards but im being told its my springs..would one spring be more worn out then the other and what else could it be? Also if I am going to buy new springs what would you guys recommend?

New rear springs are cheap, make sure u put them properly in the spring seats, I would put in Cargo Springs, they are progressive, but that's me

Is "Cargo springs" a brand or a type of spring?

How have you found the KYBs to be? I think I'm going to need new shocks next season and I'm trying to decide. I'd like to get Koni STR.Ts but I can't find anywhere in canada to get them. I don't live close enough to a US border to go and pick them up. The KYBs seem to be a bit easier to get, but I have not heard any reviews of them.

KYB's make some very high quality parts, but the third/fourth gen shocks are pretty close to stock performance. Id say the KYB is about the bare minimum shock package that actually works on our cars. The valving is too soft for any serious autocrossing or the like though.

KYB shocks are much stiffer than most shocks and a great value for the money. They tend to lift the car very slightly because the gas pressure is higher in KYB's than other gas shocks. They offer a slightly better weight transfer to the back wheels under acceleration too.

I used to sell Monroe/KYB/Koni/Bilstein shocks when I worked for "Blah" Racing Services back in the 80's. I often wondered how Monroe stayed in business. Then I had an "Ah-ha" moment. Buy Monroe shocks if you want a nice, mushy, SOFT, and comfortable ride in your sports-car. That's what they are advertising and selling. 80% of the popluation want a softer ride over bumps. Only 20% of us want to feel EVERY dime we run over.

Thanks, I'll have to think a little more about what I want to get. The car still has the original decarbons and 139K kms so anything is going to be an improvement. but I do want to lower the car slightly.
