Post 2010 Camaro details leaked
This is it. The 2010 Chevy Camaro, revealed in all its glory. According to details we've been told by the folks breaking the embargo, the new Chevy Camaro will come in LS, LT and SS (yes, we know there's a badge there that says "RS")— and be available in either 6-speed manual or auto flavors. Under the hood, a 296 HP 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 HP 6.2-liter V8 with cylinder deactivation. And check out that interior — looks very muscular to us. Weight? How about 3,747 lb — lighter than the Challenger. Full details below the jump.

I am sure it was a planned leak 8) with all the press GM is getting they need to show they are moving forward. this car IMHO is a great alternative to someone stepping down from an SUV . yeah I know it don't carry much , haul much or seat more than 4............but most SUVs and 4 wheelers carry one person
I like this car :!:

Is it just me, or is it odd that adding 2.6L / only nets another 100HP.
The V6 makes 82HP/L
The V8 makes 67HP/L.

I think they need to kick the V8 up a notch.
82HP/L would be nice. 8)
508..

I still dont like the back end on it.. but it's a nice car from the front, although I'd never own one.

So who's going to be the first CCFBG'er to get one? =P
It should be a competition.

We have chosen to wait as well, the list for new ones is hard to get on here and the connections we have are with Pontiac/Buick dealers... It does look like a great car. I am leaning towards getting a G8 tho cuz I got the family to house now and then...plus I am still a Pontiac guy at heart. When the 'vert comes out we will have to have another look! I hope lots of folks see the value in a fun car like that. Also once a car is over 400hp I am guessing it will be plenty fast enough!

lol, its not that much difference, 400lbs is a drop in the bucket(between me and my wife we need to lose half of that to be our ideal weight), the funny thing is weight doesnt make that much of a difference in quarter mile times, it all depends on how you set it up, and how good of a driver you are. i would also like to see how well equiped each vehicle is when they weighed in. Its easy for chev to put that weight on paper, when they are actually on the market we will see what they actually weigh.

chevy has been pretty good about weight, my 98 came in at 3450 lbs roughly on 2 different scales, 3670 with me in it.

curb weight has it at 3400. I'm sure I've added weight with the tires and larger rims and lost a little with lighter suspension pieces.

3700 doesn't seem to bad, but I'm sure if you play with some options ie power seats, windows and sound system, you may find it close to that number or below.

Looks nice but what is with all of these heavy pig cars there making now??? I mean my Iroc weights 3250 and its all steel, and tons of glass. PLus it is a cast Iron LT1...all the new stuff is aluminum.

Thats crazy. Imagine how fast they would all be if they weight 3000-3300lbs :D

as Scott Settlemire explained at the Nats......they want to build a good/durable car with a 5 Star insurance rating.do you actually think GM will make a POS after all these years. 412 hp  I bet the second year gets more HP
if you want a 3000 lb car theres always the Cobalt :P
