The difference between the existing and redesigned [Camaro] is not drastically different," an insider who has seen the new car revealed to Edmunds. “It is on a different platform, so that is a significant difference, but when they modified it to be on a different platform, the styling did not change that much."

New platform = what changes? If I had one wish for the 6th gen f-body ( Perhaps too late, gen7 maybe? ) is to put them on a diet. Huge cars, big weight, but they sure do sell well and I've never met a single owner that doesnt love em. The Camaro relaunch is one of the best moves GM has made in recent times there is no doubt about that. Go General GO!!!!!

On the new Alpha platform the new Camaro will come in around 3400 to 3500lbs.

The new CTS is about 3850lbs

BTW we have only ourselves to blame for a 3800lb 5th Gen.

GM asked how we wanted it done and we said just like or as close to the concept as possible.

Believe it or not stock for stock its faster than a 4th Gen in the quarter(SS to SS) and will lay the smack down on a road course as well.

Its a pretty well rounded tank
