So i guess this is a good time to upload some pictures of the rear brake disc conversion.
As easy as it was, man was it ever a pain in the ass. Let's just say that when it comes to brake line flares and connectors, i am now pro... what a nightmare, i had no idea what i was getting my self into, single flare, double flare, bubble flrare or as some like to call them metric flares, 3AN and the list goes on.

So i took the rear drums off and was left with just the back plate


With the rear open i decided to snap a picture of all numbers found inside the housing


As per instructions, i drilled out the 2 existing bolt holes, and drilled 2 new bolt holes
i think my drill battery died 5 times while doing this.... also i dont think i had the right drill bits... but still got'er done


Then i bolted on the new back plate, reinstalled the axles and closed the diff


Installed the disc and caliper






After that came the really fun part of hooking up the caliper to the existing hardline, Baer sent me the wrong fittings, and i'm sure they would of been more accommodating to this problem, but i couldnt and didnt want to wait 3 weeks to get 2 fittings, so i went to the speed shop and laid down the extra 30 bucks for the right ones (adapters, apparently, aren't freaking cheap). Its just disappointing you pay so much money for this shit and you cant even get the right stuff at the door. but oh well... its over now, and i'm that much smarter for it

After that theres only the engine to finish up




But there she is.... and she's back on the road now, shame a cant drive her til wednesday still, damn work

What do you mean by adapters for the fittings? Is it a piece the hard line goes into and then attaches to the flex lines?

Your doing some awsopme work man for sure. The kit looks almost identical to a rear LS swap. I got to still do mine when I get the new rear done

Ya, the flex lines are Banjos on one end and 3AN on the other, the give you adapters, but in my case they sent me 3AN to inverted flares, while what i needed was 3AN to metric bubble flare adapters since the hard lines are bubble flares. or according to the packaging, just "metric flares".

Man these things stop on a dime, one of the, of not the best upgrade i've ever done.
And i only did the upgrade because i had too many close calls with the old brakes

I went to the track for the first time ever last night
what a blast.... i'm glad the car held up!
but what an embarrassing reaction and 1/4 mile time.... though to be fair the adrenaline was pumping like crazy!
Only was able to get the one pass in, too many wrecks and a massive oil spill closed the night early. but oh well.
Can't wait to get back at'er next year with the new carb and get it running just right... i'm hooked!

Had the paint shop pick up the car a few days ago, to give her the look she deserves after all these years

Fuel pump access door!

It's like a tear down of This Old House - you never know what lies underneath but it's usually bad.
Yet, what a gem when it's all finished! Cheers!

I already rebuilt the car once..... and i absolutely don't remember ever seeing that fuel pump trap door
Its really quite perplexing..... I looked at old pictures and everything but nothing shows that area of the car
