@mikez:

Negative on the access to a plasma cutter. I've got several connections with shops/body guys/mechanics through work who hook me up.

@project:

Brutal isn't it? Talk about adding insult to injury.

UPDATE: Drove up to Meaford & back today - a nice 525 km round trip from my place. Picked up another set of 91/92 GFX from Rippin. Solid dude. Recommend checking out his parts thread if you guys need anything. Trust Issues is going to be an exact clone of Murderer .. and it starts from the ground up ;)

Well, the new Goodmark floor pans arrived on Thursday. Got the car towed up to the body shop yesterday. Hoping to have it back by the middle of next week.

Post Re: Project: Trust Issues
UPDATE:

Okay .. the last 2 weeks have been the craziest of my life. I packed up all my stuff (sans Camaros) and moved out to Halifax, planning on kicking off 4 years of University - a Major in Political Science with a Minor in Arabic Languages. Life seemed good.

About 48 hours before I left to embark on what would turn into a 22 hour cross-country road trip in a 20 year old Chevy SUV, I found out that my father is very sick. The doctors fear his cancer may have returned. Currently, we are waiting on the results of a biopsy on his liver. Obviously, that has been weighing heavily on my mind. When I arrived in Halifax and moved in with my 2 lovely room-mates (from the Carribean), I found out that my living expenses are going to be higher than I had expected (and bugeted for) by about $200/month. I know I'm a bit of a baller (lol), but this is due to become unaffordable pretty quickly. Also, I attended class last week and realized that I have no motivation to do any of the work (repeat: zero). When I'm not completely emotionally invested in something, my work ethic has been known to be a little lacking, and after the emotional beating 2012 has exacted on me thus far, I am in full fuck-it mode.

Soooo .. with the culmination of these issues last week, I decided to drop my classes and put my room up for rent again, in preparation to move home. Inititally I was pretty miserable and depressed, as it's not even like I had a job to come to, as I'd trained my own replacement prior to leaving.

However, everything took a turn for the better when I received via e-mail an exciting job opportunity from Vast Auto Distribution (our main supplier at CAS back home) to start on their order desk. Needless to say, I am quite grateful and excited for the opportunity! Of course, this means moving to Brampton (or somewhere in close proximity to Steeles & Airport) but I can't wait to strap that 5x9 U-haul trailer onto my truck and get truck'n her home to see my Dad and get life started in a new direction - again.

And oh yeah, CAR STUFF!!

Got the new floor pans installed - Unfortunately, my body guy said that he had to cut off the very front of the pans (that go up under the dash) as he was not going to take the cowl off to install them and that's basically how they're made to go in - You guys can verify this for me as I don't have a clue one way or the other - But needless to say, the floor is in. Bought a bucket of Lizard Skin and spent several hours with scotch brite and sandpaper scuffing up the interior, before a friend with the necessary applicator gun sprayed 'er in for heat/noise reduction.

Pretty soon, it will be joining Murderer (may he rest in peace) on my buddy's redneck fab farm - in order to receive the complete transfusion of parts and accessories over the winter!

PS - If anyone on the forum lives within a 10-15 minute driving distance of Steeles & Airport and is looking to rent a room - Get at me, I may be interested!

@Trigger

Now THOSE look really nice, man. From what I could see (and again, I've been getting e-mailed pics. from back home while out in Halifax) it looks like he cut it off where they start to angle up under the dash.

@Ray

Can't wait to go for a ride, man. I'm sure 'beast' doesn't even begin to describe your car right now. And thanks for the kind words. I'm sure I'll be in touch over the next little while once I get home and continue making progress with the project.

I'm sure there's gonna be lots of odds & ends I'll need to pick up from you guys, but as of right now, the goal is to have it back on the road for next summer. Fingers crossed!

Okay so a couple of small updates!

#1 - I bought a T-56 from someone on the forum with a pretty bad ass car. Whose was it? I cannot reveal. Am I stoked? Hellz ya baby! 1 more 6spd third gen. is what the world needs!

#2 - Painted the engine bay of the Camaro prior to putting everything in. Apologies for the crappy cell phone pic.

I work at Airport and Steeles.

Maybe we could meet for lunch some day when I get back from Japan.
