Brightening white letters on tires
The white letters on my Goodyear Eagles GTII had turned brownish and are scuffed up. Suggestions mostly on the web are to use an abrasive pad or brush. Rather than scratching the rubber, I used Magic Eraser foam pads. I cut the pad into small widths (the size of the letters) and removed the film on top of the letters. It sure whitened them and did not scratch. Excess water droplets from the pad tended to leave white blotches. So I immediately wiped them of the black rubber. I got the great idea to whiten the letters with Tana white shoe polish. It could be that the polish had partially dried up, so it just would cake up on the surface and not go on as a film. Next time I will try running shoe whitening polish.

I use SOS pads and rinse with soaking wet clean cloth.

^ Dis. SOS brings them out like new every time no matter how old. If they are damaged from curb rash then the polish trick may be nec but for cleaning white walls or white letter you cant beat SOS pads

Re: Brightening white letters on tires
I recommend Westley's Bleche-Wite. It is safe on tires and wheels.
